Performance Reimagined
The Zero FXE is the fastest accelerating 11kW (CBT/A1 licence) motorcycle in the world, reaching 60mph in little over four seconds and going on to a top speed of 82 mph. The FXE achieves this extraordinary performance through combining peak power of 33kW (44 hp) with torque of 78 ft lb, which is normally associated with 1000cc petrol bikes. The FXE delivers this impressive turn of pace with great agility due to weighing just 135kg and riding on 17" wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
Suspension and Brakes
Showa provides the fully adjustable, front and rear suspension with inverted 41 mm front forks providing an impressive 7" of travel and a 40mm piston, piggy-back reservoir shock at the rear providing a huge 8.94" of travel. Brakes are courtesy of Bosch 9th Gen ABS which are mated to J-Juan calipers, which grip a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm disc at the rear.
Battery and Range
The FXE is ideally suited to urban and medium distance rural commuting, where its non removable 7.2kWh battery will deliver well over 80 miles of range in urban settings, where it is assisted by its fully adjustable regenerative braking, which thrives on a start-stop riding pattern. This range will drop to around sixty miles on higher speed runs, which is still ample for most commutes. The FXE is a total blast on twisty roads where its unique attributes really come together to create an immensely entertaining and effortlessly swift ride, which much larger bikes will struggle to match. Like all Zeros, the FXE's battery is covered by a five-year warranty, which also covers the Battery Management System (the microprocessor which controls the charging process and communicates with the Main Bike Board).
Charging options
The FXE has a built-in 650W mains charger which plugs into any 13 Amp mains socket to provide a 0-100% recharge in ten hours. This can be reduced to under four hours with the optional 1kW accessory charger, which connects to an entirely separate side-mounted connector. The two chargers can run simultaneously from the same mains socket and when combined, they draw less than 7 amps.
Running costs
FXE running costs are around 2p per mile for urban riding and around 3p per mile when enjoying faster roads. This equates to between 340 mpg and 225 mpg (based on 2024 electricity and petrol costs). Servicing requirements for the FXE are largely restricted to the cost of tyres and brakes, and the carbon drive belt only requires occasional tensioning and alignment, so gone are the days of lubricating a chain and constantly removing grease from the back wheel. When correctly maintained, the drive belt drive belt will last up to 20,000 miles, and a free belt adjustment service is provided by Magnet Motos across the life of any Zero that we supply.
