For well over a year we've been hearing rumours about Talaria's answer to Sur-Ron's Ultra Bee; the Talaria Dragon, which was expected to land on our shores in the summer of 2024. Instead, the Sting Pro arrived in the autumn of 24, with its superior straight line performance, and set within a significantly upgraded version of the Sting R chassis. The Sting Pro launched at £4,895, but now sits at just £4,295, which makes it outstanding value for a pure off-road bike with its immense capability.
Hot on the heels of the recently facelifted Ultra Bee, the Talaria Komodo was launched to the press and global distributors on 17th April, and it seems it's have been well worth the wait. It would be inappropriate to compare the Talaria Komodo to any other electric motocross bike at its rumoured price point of £5,995, as it sits somewhere between a petrol 350-450cc bike. Top level, the specs are as follows: -
Peak Power: 33kW (43hp)
Peak Torque: 754 Nm
Battery Voltage: 97v
Battery Current: 45AH
Battery Capacity: 4.4kWh
Power Modes: Eco, Sport and Hyper
Regen: 4 Level
Brakes: 220mm discs/4 piston calipers
Forks: 38mm width, 250mm travel
Shock: 350mm length. 90mm travel
Wheels: 21/18
Top Speed: 66 mph
0-30: 1.9s
0-60: 4.5s
Seat Height: 910mm
Weight: 98kg
With both acceleration and variable regen controlled from the right hand, the Talaria Komodo delivers a precision ride, with access to its jaw dropping and seamless, 43hp and 754 Nm of torque. The 21" front and 18" rear wheels, forged alloy chassis, meaty front and rear suspension and 220mm discs with 4 piston calipers allow the Talaria Komodo to tackle a wide range of off-road environments with ease. The three forward and one reverse riding modes make the Talaria Komodo's performance accessible to a wide range of riders, from novice to expert, as does the price. Initially, the Talaria Komodo will only be available in its off-road form, but will be joined in the autumn of 2025 with a road-legal variant, which will further widen the appeal of this exceptional motorcycle.
Talaria has made incredible progress since its launch of the Sting in 2021, and its fifth model, the Talaria Komodo, puts it firmly at the pinnacle of the midweight electric off-road category.
