The Talaria Dragon was first announced in early 2024, and although the spec at that time was sketchy, it was clear they were going after the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee market. Later in 2024 a pivot occurred, with such a major review of the project that Dragon was delayed by almost a year. Rumours at the time suggested that a far more ambitious project was afoot, with the Dragon to become the new middle-weight industry benchmark.
When the top line spec was announced earlier in 2025 it was clear that Dragon, or Komodo, to give the bike it's new name, was indeed going to be a game-changer. With nearly 43hp and 754Nm of torque, there's power aplenty, which realistically is going to be extremely hard to fully exploit. The 21'/18" wheel combination puts the Komodo firmly in MX territory, albeit that the 70mm front tyre and 90mm rear will struggle for grip with aggressive throttle use. Beyond the motor, forged aluminium chassis and wheels, the fully adjustable suspension has also received a lot of attention, with 250mm travel from the front 850mm forks and 90mm from the rear, 350mm shock.
With three riding modes, four levels of brake regen, a thumb control for variable regen and reverse, the Komodo has the flexibility to accommodate different skill levels and styles of riding. In Eco mode, power delivery is smooth and easily manageable, whilst Hyper mode will challenge experienced riders, with more than enough power to propel the 98kg chassis across a wide range of surfaces and conditions. With Sport mode sitting in the middle, there's literally something for everyone, and no matter which mode you select, you always get a smooth and seamless delivery of power, without the noise, heat and running costs of a petrol bike. At £5,795, the Komodo will find a huge fan base, and its battery of nearly 4.4kWh delivers around 2.5 hours of riding time at an average speed of 28 mph.
